  • Steven Y. Liang

    Professor of Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.

    Research field: precision engineering, extreme manufacturing, and technology innovation.

    Steven Y. Liang received the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, in 1987. He was the Institute’s Founding Director of the Precision Machining Research Consortium, the Director of the Manufacturing Education Program, and the Associate Director of the Manufacturing Research Center from 1996 to 2008. He is a professor (tenured) and a Morris M. Bryan, Jr., Professor of Mechanical Engineering for Advanced Manufacturing Systems (permanently appointed) with the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prof. Liang’s technical interests lie in precision engineering, extreme manufacturing, and technology innovation. He is a Fellow of ASME and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers International (SME). He is the recipient of many prestigious awards, including the SME Robert B. Douglas Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award, Society of Automotive Engineers Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award, SME Blackall Machine Tool and Gage Award, and Outstanding Alumni Award of National Cheng Kung University. He served as the President of the North American Manufacturing Research Institution (NAMRI) and the Chair of the Manufacturing Engineering Division of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

  • Mark James-Jackson

    Professor, Kansas State University, USA.

    Research field:Condensed Matter Physics, Physics and Chemistry of Solids, Tribology of Machining, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture.

    Dr. Mark James Jackson received the M.Eng., Ph.D., and D.Sc. degrees in Liverpool, U.L., he conducted his postdoctoral studies at the University of Cambridge. He is the McCune and Middlekauff Endowed Professor of Mechanical Engineering with Kansas State University. He has also conducted research at Oxford University and taught at the University of Liverpool before teaching in the USA. His areas of expertise in mechanical engineering technology include manufacturing, materials science and nanotechnology. In 2015 and 2020, Dr. Jackson was awarded the Certificate and Diploma in Naval Architecture from the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy, London, UK. He also conducts work on aspects of laser welding and deposition of thick film coatings in the shipbuilding process.

  • Ali M. Eltamaly

    Professor, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia.

    Research field:Renewable Energy, Smart Grids, Power Electronics, Motor Drives, Power Quality, Artificial Intelligence, Evolutionary and Heuristic Optimization Techniques, and Distributed Generation.

    Ali M. Eltamaly received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Al-Minia University, Egypt, in 1992 and 1996, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University, in 2000. He is currently a Full Professor with King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, and Mansoura University, Egypt. He has published 15 books and book chapters. He has authored or coauthored more than 200 refereed journal articles and conference papers, and a number of patents with the U.S. Patent Office. He has supervised several M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses and worked on number of technical projects. His current research interests include renewable energy, smart grids, power electronics, motor drives, power quality, artificial intelligence, evolutionary and heuristic optimization techniques, and distributed generation. He received the Professor Award for Scientific Excellence from the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities, Egypt, in June 2017, and has been awarded many prizes from different universities in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He has chaired many international conference sessions. He participates as an editor and an associate editor for many international journals.

  • Babak Safaei

    Associate professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Eastern Mediterranean University, Turkey.

    Research field:Computational Mechanics, Micro and Nano Mechanics, Design of Lightweight Structures, Composite Materials, Mechanical Vibration, Biomechanics and Drug Delivery, Advanced Manufacturing, Finite Element and Mesh-Free Method, Nonlocal.

    Dr. Babak Safaei currently is working as an Associate Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering at Eastern Mediterranean University. He received his PhD. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University. Presently, he is the Director of Nanotechnology and Multifunctional Structures Research Center (NMSRC) at Eastern Mediterranean University. Also, he has honorary position as Visiting Associate Professor at University of Johannesburg since 2021. His research interests focus on Computational Mechanics; Micro and Nano Mechanics; Advanced Manufacturing; Design of Lightweight Structures; Composite and Nano Composite Materials; Lithium-Ion Batteries, Nonlocal Theories and Mechanical Vibration.

  • Hassan Afshari

    Senior Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Khomeinishahr Branch, Islamic Azad University.

    Research field:Mechanical Vibration (Continuous Systems, Rotor Dynamics), Plates and Shells (Bending, Buckling and Vibration analyses), Aeroelasticity (Flutter Analysis), Optimization (Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)), Numerical methods such as Differential Quadrature Methods (DQM), Finite Elem.

    Hassan Afshari received his B.S. from Mechanical Engineering, University of Kashan from 2005 to 2009, M.S. from 2009 to 2012, and Ph. D from 2012 to 2017. He has been a senior lecturer at Islamic Azad University, Khomeini Shahr Branch, Khomeini Shahr since 2013. His research areas include Mechanical Vibration (Continuous Systems, Rotor Dynamics), Plates and Shells (Bending, Buckling and Vibration analyses), Aeroelasticity (Flutter Analysis), Optimization (Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)), Numerical methods such as Differential Quadrature Methods (DQM), Finite Elem and he has published over 60 publications and one book in these field.
